Director, Division for Sustainable Development and Human Settlings Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) Economist, LEAD Fellow and Master in International Political Economics Former Director for the Center of Sustainable Transportation, a program established together with the World Resources Institute, the Ministry of Environment of the Distrito Federal and the Interdisciplinary Center of Biodiversity and Environment. He has been a consultant for the United Nations Environmental Programme, the World Bank, the World Wildlife Fund, and the Geo Center. He was coordinator for International Affairs for the Ministry of Environment of Mexico from 1994 to 2000. As such, he participated in the negotiation of the Kyoto Protocol and the Biosecurity Protocol. He was a member of the Bureau of the Environmental Politics Committee of the OECD and the committee for the elaboration of the 2020 Environmental Strategy. He represented Mexico in the North American Environmental Cooperation Commission. He is co-author of Climate of Trust, a World Resources Institute publication which examines the routes for climate regime evolution. He was coordinator of the course called Economy and Environmental Management at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. |
