Amerigo Incalcaterra
Representative of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in Mexico.

As of October 2005, Mr. Amerigo Incalcaterra was appointed by Mrs. Louise Arbour, United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights as her Representative in Mexico |
Since 1988, Mr. Incalcaterra, of Italian nationality, has worked in different positions within the United Nations in the field of political advisory, human rights, public security, and strengthening of democracy and development. He has also participated in peace missions in Central America.
He was Deputy Director of the OHCHR in Colombia and worked as a Legal Advisor and Coordination Officer of the UN Verification Mission in Guatemala.
He was an Advisor to the Department of Political Affairs and the Department of Peacekeeping Operations in public security matters.
In El Salvador, he participated in the UN Verification Mission as Advisor to the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary General in El Salvador in matters related to political affairs, public security, human and legal rights. Mr. Incalcaterra was Advisor to the Director of the Human Rights Division, electoral official and also participated in the establishment of the different regional offices of the Mission.
Mr. Incalcaterra also held the position of Protection and Programme Officer with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Guatemala, Mexico, Belize. Cuba and Angola.
