Xavier Coll
Vice President for Human Resources, World Bank.
Xavier Coll, a Spanish national, currently serves as Vice President, Human Resources at the World Bank.
Xavier joined the Bank in 1987 in the health sector. He served as both a Sector Manager and Director in the Human Development Sector Management Unit in the Latin America and the Caribbean Region before joining the President’s office in 2001 as Director and Chief of Staff. In this function, he managed the office and coordinated the strategic agenda with other units throughout the Bank.
Prior to joining the Bank, Xavier worked as a general medical practitioner at the University Hospital of Barcelona, Spain, and as a strategic planner for the American Medical International, a United States multi-hospital firm based in Los Angeles.
A graduate of the University of Barcelona with a Medical degree, Xavier also holds a Masters in Public Health from the Johns Hopkins University, as well as a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Chicago, where he was a Fulbright Scholar.
Xavier speaks Spanish, English, French and Catalan.
